Bill Bone Bike Law sponsored SMART Ride 2018, two days of cycling through picture-perfect South Florida winter weather-all to raise money for organizations that serve people who have or are at risk for AIDS/HIV and their families, friends, and affected communities.

SMART Ride is extraordinary. In the 15 years since its inception, it has become the second largest AIDS fundraiser ride in the country, and the only one of its size to return 100% of monies raised directly to charitable beneficiaries-an astounding $9.3 million. Bill Bone Bike Law is proud to be among more than a dozen other sponsors, all passionate advocates for the health of people experiencing AIDS/HIV, and all committed to the well-being of people in the LGBTQ community.

Benefiting from this January’s ride are Broward House, which offers integrated health care, housing, and social services to people affected by HIV/AIDS, and other health concerns like substance abuse; Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Centers, which provide one-stop, family-centered healing and support; Metro Wellness and Community Centers, which excel in both primary care and infectious disease management, as well as in emotional-psychological support and safe space for people who identify as LGBTQ; and Pridelines, Miami-Dade’s oldest and original LGBTQ community center and social services agency. These four organizations form the welcoming and supportive bedrock of South Florida’s AIDS/HIV and LGBTQ communities.

In addition to its monetary sponsorship donation, Bill Bone donated water bottles and sponsored a hydration station.
